EFCC’s Ibadan Command Secures Eight Convictions of Cybercriminals

The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 secured the conviction and sentencing of eight (8) internet fraudsters.
The convicts are Adebisi Jamiu Ademola, Koleosho Eniola Michael, Timilehin Tobiloba Fajutu, Gbolahan Olonrewaju, Michael Timileyin Aiyeobasa, Olalekan Akinkunmi Faith, Ojubanire Akindimeji Quadri, and Samuel Adegoke Timileyin.
They all pleaded “guilty” to the one count charge each made against them by the anti-graft agency before Justices Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court, Ibadan in Oyo State; Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High, Osogbo, Osun State; Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and Bayo Taiwo of the State High Court, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Internet Fraudster Jailed One Year in Kaduna

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday April 6, 2022 secured the conviction and sentencing of one Morris Moses before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court 11, for cheating by impersonation.
Morris who was arrested in a sting operation in Kaduna, was discovered to have assumed the identity of Tucka James on his Facebook account and used same to establish a romantic relationship and defraud an American citizen.

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 arraigned one Segun Emmanuel Oni, a Personal Assistant to former Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial Constituency, Senator Simeon Ajibola, for criminal breach of trust and fraud to the tune of N6.5million.
Oni, 42, from Isapa in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State was arraigned before Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on a two-count charge contrary to Section 311 of the Penal Code Law and punishable under Section 312 of the same Penal Code.
Oni was allegedly entrusted with two Toyota Siena mini bus and one Toyota Rav4 by one Mr. Samson Adewoye, which he sold and converted the proceeds to personal use.
EFCC Tasks Women on Anti-graft War

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on Nigerian women to continue to lend their voices to the anti-graft campaign of the Commission, as part of efforts to check the menace of youth involvement in cybercrimes in the country.
The Zonal Commander of the EFCC in Lagos, Ahmed Ghali, gave the charge at the weekend while delivering a paper tilted,"The Menace of Internet Fraud And Its Consequences On The Economy, Youths’ Development” at a seminal organized by the Catholic Women Organisation, CWO, Nigeria Lagos Archdiocese, Ikeja Deanery, in Lagos.
While urging women to pay more attention to the lifestyles of their children as well as the company they keep, Ghali berated those who aid and abet their children to commit internet fraud.
Court Jails Oil Thief Two Years In Port Harcourt

Justice A. T. Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has convicted and sentenced Yoosu Alex, to two years imprisonment for illegal dealing in petroleum products without an appropriate licence.
The convict was jailed on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 after pleading "guilty" to one-count charge preferred against him by the Port Harcourt's Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for illegally dealing in petroleum products.
The count charge read:
"That you Yoosu Alex on or about the 6th day of December, 2021 around the creek on Akassa River, Bayelsa State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court without lawful authority and license dealt in Crude Oil to wit: 700,000 litres conveyed in MT. TIS IV and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(17) (a) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap M17, of the Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria) 2004 and punishable under Section 1 (17) (b) of the same Act".
