Court Jails One for Criminal Misappropriation in Kaduna

Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kaduna has convicted and sentenced Tanko Gambo Biye to ten ( 10) years imprisonment for criminal misappropriation.
He was jailed on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, after pleading “guilty" to one- count charge bordering on criminal misappropriation, upon his arraignment by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The one count amended charge read: " That you Tukur Gambo Biye sometime in 2017 in Kaduna within the Kaduna Judicial Division of the High Court being entrusted with sum of N900,000.00 (Nine Hundred Thousand Naira) from one Ayuba Mohammed Yakasai and Lawal Pate Iya for the purpose of registering them with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, which you dishonestly converted to your own use in violation of the legal contract you made in regard to the said sum and you thereby committed criminal misappropriation contrary to Section 293 of the Penal Code Law of Kaduna State, 2017 and punishable under Section 294 of the same Law."
EFCC Grills Suspected Oil Thief in Uyo

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigations of a suspected illegal petroleum dealer handed over to the Command by the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Uyo.
The dealer: Endurance Asuquo was handed over to the EFCC on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, upon his arrest by the Army, along Itu - Calabar Road on February 27, 2022.
He was arrested alongside a Sino Truck with registration number - DRK 700XA, loaded with about five thousand (5000) litres of products, suspected to be illegally- refined Automated Gas Oil( AGO) and Dual Purpose Kerosene( DPK). The products are concealed in reinforced plastic bags tucked in many sac bags.
Kaduna Students Task EFCC to Establish Anti-corruption Club in School

Students and officials of HMS school Kaduna, today called on the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC to assist in setting up an anti-corruption club in the institution.
The call was made by the students who were on an excursion to the Command.
Part of the team that educated the students on the activities of the Commission, were the Head of Bank Fraud, Effa I. Okim who enumerated the visible ills of corruption in our society as well the roles the kids can play at their own level in curbing corruption. In his words, “you are young and preparing to take up leadership positions in future, as such you all must start to live and act in a morally acceptable way".
Court Sends Three Internet Fraudsters to Jail, Orders Forfeiture of Their Cars to FG

Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday April 6, 2022, secured the conviction of three internet fraudsters, Ebuehi Gift, Joseph Etim Peters and Evans Osayuware Ovie on one count charge of intent to fraudulent impersonate and intent to defraud before Justice Efe Ikpomwonba of Edo State High Court , Benin City , Edo State.
The trio fraudulently represented themselves as foreign nationals in order to defraud unsuspecting victims.
The charge against Joseph Etim Peter (aka Mogarn Ben) reads: “That you, Joseph Etim Peter between January to December 2022 in Benin City , Edo State , within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fraudulently impersonate the identity of one Bernard J, an American Soldier with intent to defraud unsuspecting ladies in China and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 484 of the Criminal Code Cap 48 Laws of Bendel State of Nigeria ( as applicable in Edo State) 1976.
Anti-Graft War: Navy Commends EFCC

The Nigeria Navy has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for its hard work, professionalism and integrity in the fight against corruption in the Niger Delta Region and sought for more collaboration among the two agencies.
Commodore R. T. Oladejo, Commandant, Nigerian Navy Intelligence School, (NNIS) Obima gave the commendation on Tuesday, April 5 during a courtesy visit to the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the EFCC.
He further disclosed that his visit was mainly to introduce himself as he was recently deployed as the Commandant Nigerian Navy Intelligence School (NNIS) Obima, and sought for more collaboration between the EFCC and the Nigerian Navy in the fight against corruption.
