EFCC Backs CIFCFEN on the Establishment of Forensics College in Nigeria

The Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, has indicated the willingness of the EFCC to collaborate with the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria, CIFCFEN for the establishment of the first Nigerian College of Forensics.
He made the disclosure on Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Abuja while delivering a Goodwill Message at the Professional Training and Standards Graduation Ceremony of 93 Certified Fraud Examiners organized by the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja.
Bawa noted that the investigation of economic and financial crimes and other acts of corruption, demands collaborative engagement and the EFCC would always partner with agencies involved in cracking such crimes.
Court Jails 14 for Fraud in Calabar

A Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu has convicted one Obed Chukwuemeka Great, a Student of the University of Calabar, and 13 others for offences bordering on criminal impersonation with intent to defraud.
The 13 others aged between 18 and 27 are: Nwagbara Randy Chima, Omororo Charity, Enya Aboli Samuel, Otaka Emmanuel, Owolabi Kolawole and Ekima Kingsley Ujiokoyo.
Others are: David Frank Osas, Gabriel Uko Ogbu, Ihemekwelam Uriel Chkwuemeka, Ejiofor Victor, Thank-God Udeme, John Omokhagbon Audi and Gabriel Okongor.
Ex-Convict, Oyeyemi Loses Rights Suit against EFCC

Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin on Thursday, March 31, 2022 dismissed a fundamental right suit brought by a convicted fraudster, Oyeyemi Caleb, against Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Oyeyemi, 21, from Odo-Owa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State was sometime last year prosecuted by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC before Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the State High Court in Ilorin over offences bordering on internet fraud. Specifically, he posed as a white lady, an online prostitute to scam one Wilson (a white man) to the tune of $100 US Dollars in order to offer him sex.
EFCC Charge Students on Integrity and Transparent Conduct

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on students across the country to pursue integrity and transparent conduct as effective means of building resistance against corrupt practices.
This call was made in Abuja on Thursday, March 31, 2021 by Head, EFCC Academy's Media Unit, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Chidimma Amanambu, while addressing students of Margaret Thelma International School and Perfect Steps International Schools, both in Karu, Abuja, during an excursion to the Academy.
"As students having long future ahead of you, your understanding and practice of honesty, integrity and openness in everything you do is imperative. Corruption thrives in cover- ups and shadiness. I urge you to shun unhealthy practices always and report any form of economic and financial crime around you to the EFCC", she said.
Internet Fraudster Bags Five Years Jail in Benin

Justice S. M. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City on Thursday, March 31, 2022, convicted and sentenced Samson Obademi to five years imprisonment for fraud.
Obademi was arraigned on one count charge of impersonation by the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC.
