EFCC Arrests Six Suspects For Allegedly Stealing Grandmother's N15.7million in Kano

The Kano Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested six suspects for allegedly stealing the sum of N15, 708,904( Fifteen Million, Seven Hundred and Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred and Four Hundred Naira) belonging to a grandmother.
The suspects: Badaru Munir (23); Aliyu Falalu Hamza( 23); AlMustapha Nasir( 22); Haruna Salisu Abatua( 23); Ismail Salisu Jibia (22), Ishaq Aminu( 19), were arrested separately at different locations by operatives of the EFCC, between March 6 and 7, 2022.
NSCDC Assures of Sustained Collaboration with EFCC

The Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Akwa Ibom State Command, Majekodunmi Abidemi, has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, for promoting inter-agency synergy in the fight against corruption.
Abidemi gave the commendation on Tuesday March 29, 2022, when the Uyo Zonal Commander of the EFCC, ACE-II Bawa Hamidu paid him a courtesy visit. He emphasized cooperation amongst agencies as no single agency can succeed in curbing the menace of corruption, economic and financial crimes alone. "The partnership between the EFCC and the NSCDC is a very functional one, and we solicit for the bond to continue because no agency can do it alone" said Abidemi.

The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested Emmanuel Dike Chidiebere, a suspect on the watch list of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, for conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering.
Acting on verified intelligence, operatives of the Commission on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, tracked the suspect to Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State where he was arrested.

Debest Osarumwense, mother of Endurance Osarumwense, an internet fraudster was on Tuesday March 29, 2022, sentenced to five years imprisonment by Justice M. S. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City.
Debest was arraigned by the Benin Zonal Command of the Commission on a one count charge for aiding her son to receive the sum of N91,296,150.00, proceeds of his criminal activities.
Intelligence-led Investigation Crucial to Tackling Cyber Crimes- Bawa

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa has stated that intelligence- driven investigations are crucial to tackling internet- related offences.
He stated this on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at a Regional Workshop on Cybersecurity and Digitalization, organized by the African Center of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning, ACETEL, in Abuja.
According to him, digital technologies are quite effective and reliable in cracking cyber offences. He explained that most internet- related crimes are facilitated by poor cybersecurity or the lack of it. “It is pertinent to state that most of these offences were either perpetrated because of absence of use of technology or absence of proper cybersecurity", he said.
