Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on , June 16, 2022, arrested three suspected internet fraudsters. Uzefere Stephen, Dozie Kenneth and Chinagorom Macdonald Nnadozie were arrested at Bricks City Estate, Kubwa Abuja, following intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.

The Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of one internet fraudster, Opeyemi Fatoyinbo, to one year imprisonment before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
He was arrested on July 29, 2021 during a sting operation at Rollace Hotel, Ajao Estate, Lagos, following intelligence on the activities of some persons allegedly involved in fraudulent online activities.
The amended one count preferred against him reads: “ That you, Opeyemi Fatoyinbo , on or about 29th July, 2021, in Lagos, within the Ikeja jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, with intent to defraud, retained in your possession the aggregate sum of $650.00( Six Hundred and Fifty US Dollars)and one Samsung phone , being proceeds from a criminal conduct , deceitfully obtained from unsuspecting members of the public.”
Woman, 88, Reveals How She Was Duped N36m In Lagos

An 88-year-old prosecution witness, Tawakalitu Afolake Ilumoka, on Thursday, June 16, 2022, told Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja how one Olorunfemi Ayodeji duped her N36m.
Ayodeji, also known as Otunba, is facing a three-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Sections 1 (1)(a) and 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act No. 14 of 2006, and stealing, contrary to Section 278 (1), (2) and 285 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
He was arraigned on February 24, 2022 by the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
EFCC Football Team Lifts FCT Cup

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s football team, EFCC FC, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Area 3 Football Stadium emerged winner of the Federal Capital City, FCT’s Aieto Cup, beating Mailantarki FC 2-1 in an entertaining game to lift the coveted trophy.
The EFCC team came from a goal down, to beat Mailantarki FC, with two goals in the second half - a strike by Job Ogbanaje and a 78th minute penalty converted by the Captain of the team, Emmanuel Icha.
Yahoo Boy Jailed for Fraud, to Sweep Church in Abuja

Justice K.N. Ogbonnaya of the FCT High Court Kubwa on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 convicted and sentenced one Chibuike Marshal Omemgboji (alias Surajo Ascencio) to six months of community service. He was convicted having pleaded guilty to one count charge of fraudulent impersonation.
The charge reads, “that you, Chibuike Marshal Omemgboji (alias Surajo Ascencio) sometime in 2022 within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court fraudulently cheat when you created social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram, misrepresenting yourself to be Surajo Ascencio upon which one Sarah Vakunta (aka Danne Gibbs) delivered the sum of $4,328 (Four Thousand Three Hundred and Twenty Eight United States Dollars) only under the pretence that you are in love with her, thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 320(a) of the Penal Code Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (Abuja) 1990 and punishable under Section 322 of the same Law'.
