The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one Fidelis Poor, a member of a syndicate who allegedly connived to defraud a first Class Traditional Ruler in Kwara State, His Royal Highness Idris Sero Abubakar, to the tune of N33,399,999.00 (Thirty-Three Million, Three Hundred and Ninety-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Naira).
Fidelis, 30, who hails from Stwue in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State alongside other suspects (still at large) allegedly conspired to swindle the monarch on the guise that he had a container of goods meant to be used for the development of Okuta community due be cleared at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa has commended the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on its commitments and support to youth enlightenment, sensitization and drive towards the fight against economic and financial crimes.
He gave the commendation recently at a Stakeholders Meeting held at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja. According to him, the NYSC has proven to be reliable and responsive to the clarion for youth involvement in the fight against corruption through its support and mobilization of corps members for anti-corruption engagements. , “We are grateful for your support and collaboration, you are always at our beck and call and you have become our foot soldiers in the fight against economic and financial crimes”, he said.

The Maiduguri Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ACE II Umar Shuaibu has called on staff of the Command to be guided by the recently released Policies and Manuals of the Commission in the discharge of their duties for improved service delivery.
The Commander who was recently deployed to the Maiduguri Command gave the charge during his maiden meeting with staff on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the conference hall of the Command.
