Fire Incident Reported at EFCC Exhibit Dump in Port Harcourt

There was a fire incident at the exhibit dump of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, located at Iriebi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Monday, March 14, 2022. The incident which occurred in the early hours of the day, affected most of the trucks parked in the facility before the fire was put out by men of the Federal Fire Service.
Farmer, One Other Jailed for Cyber Fraud in Ilorin

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 secured the conviction of two persons over offences bordering on cheating by personation, love scam and other internet related fraud.
The convicts are Abdulkareem Jamiu who claimed to be a farmer and one Zakariyha Ibrahim from Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The duo of Jamiu and Ibrahim who were prosecuted before Justices Adenike Akinpelu and Sikiru Oyinloye respectively on separate charges, pleaded guilty to their respective charge.
Man Bags Two Years Imprisonment in Lafia for Facebook Scam

The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, March 14 2022, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Tarbee Destiny Tyodoo before Justice N. I. Afolabi of the Federal High Court, Lafia, Nasarawa State on one count charge for his involvement in Internet fraud.
The charge reads: “That you Tarbee Destiny Tyodoo sometime in January, 2022 in Makurdi, Nigeria within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court directly made false statement on your Facebook dating scam account knowing same to be false, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22 (3) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention etc) Act, 2015 and punishable under the same Section of the Act".
EFCC Arraigns Nnamani for N2.3m Land Scam in Enugu

The Economic and Financial crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Command, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 arraigned one Amaechi Tony Nnamani before Justice F.O.G Ogunbanjo of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu, Enugu State on a six count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretences and stealing to the tune of N2,380,000 (Two Million, Three Hundred and Eighty- Thousand Naira).
Nnamani’s ordeal began when the complainant, Ngwule Chukwuebuka contacted him that he wanted to buy land situated at the Agu Nyama River Layout in Enugu South. After negotiations, Chukwuebuka paid the sum of N2, 380,000 to Nnamani but when it was time to take possession of the land, he couldn’t because the land belonged to one Jonathan Nwachukwu.
$1.6m Scam: Court Rules on Lagos Pastor’s No Case Submission April 12

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on March 11, 2022, adjourned ruling on the no-case submission filed by one Ayodeji Ibrahim Oluokun, a self-acclaimed Lagos-based pastor, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for an alleged $1.6million fraud, till April 12, 2022.
Oluokun was arraigned alongside his company, Peak Petroleum Industry Nigeria Limited, on charges bordering on issuance of dud cheques, stealing and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of $1.6 million.
