Court Sends Former Quickpay Staff to 1 Year Imprisonment for Fraud in Gombe

Justice J.A. Awak of the Gombe State High Court, Gombe, Gombe on Thursday, July 1, 2021, convicted and sentenced one Benson Tivesue, a former staff of Quickpay Digital Solutions to one year imprisonment on one count charge of criminal misappropriation brought against him by the Gombe Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The convict was investigated and prosecuted by the EFCC after a petition by his former employer, Quickpay Digital Solutions, Gombe State office, alleging that he diverted the sum of N117,000 (One Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Naira only), being funds collected for the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) to which he converted to personal use.

Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Thursday, July 1, 2021 convicted one Ganiyy Rasaq Olarewaju, a 300Level Student of University of Ilorin and one Olakunle Adebisi, an ND II student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin accused of love scam by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The anti-graft agency had on Monday, June 28, 2021 arraigned Ganiyy and Adebisi on one count separate charge, to which they pleaded guilty.
Upon their pleas, counsel to the EFCC, Sesan Ola called two witnesses - Dagogo Urowayino and Shetima Yusuf against Rasak and Adebisi, respectively to review the facts of the cases.
NANS Pledges Support to EFCC

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, have expressed their zeal to join hands with the EFCC to stamp out corruption from Nigerian Universities and the country at large.
Chidi Nzekwe, the Association’s National Director of Culture and Tourism made the pledge on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 when he led a team of NANS executives on a solidarity visit to the Enugu Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has charged officers of the Benin Zonal Office to uphold the core values of the Commission (which are professionalism, courage and integrity) in the discharge of their duties. The EFCC boss stated this on Thursday, July 1, 2021 while addressing staff of the Zonal Office in Benin city, Edo State.
The EFCC boss who was on a working visit to the Zone, charged the staff to be disciplined as it was key to attaining the Commission's mandate. "We should be disciplined and have mutual respect for one another. Respect your fellow colleagues."
Kwara Attorney-General Hails EFCC’s Anti-Graft War

The Kwara State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Alhaji Salman Jawondo, has commended the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for the successes it has recorded in the State.
He gave the commendation on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 when he led a delegation of the Kwara State Ministry of Justice on a visit to the Ilorin Zonal Office of the EFCC.
