Justice Darius Khobo of State High Court sitting in Kaduna on January 22, convicted and sentenced one Kamilu Tukur Ruma to Ten years imprisonment for obtaining N742,000 (Seven Hundred and Forty-two Thousand Naira) from one Zainab Garba as investment in a phony farming business.
Maiduguri Zone Records 19 Convictions

The Maiduguri Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes EFCC recorded 19 convictions in 2020. The zonal head, Hamza Rilwan disclosed this on Sunday, January 24, 2020, during a sensitization visit to Radio Nigeria, Peace FM 102.50, Maiduguri, Borno State. According to him, the zone received two hundred and ninety-seven (297) petitions out which thirty-two (32) were investigated and charged to court leading to nineteen (19) convictions.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Maiduguri Zonal Office, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 secured the conviction and sentencing of one Sahabo Abubakar Ahiwa before Justice Jude Dagat of the Federal High Court, Maiduguri, to one year and nine months imprisonment for obtaining N9m by false pretense.
