The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to a report captioned, "There is corruption in N-SIP programme- Magu", which appeared in the Punch Newspaper of Wednesday September 25, 2019 and a few other newspapers, in which the acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu was quoted as saying that there is corruption in the National Social Investment Programme and the Anchor Borrower's Programme.

The trial of the chief maintenance officer of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ganiyu Yunusa Deji before Justice Jude Okeke of the Federal Capital Territory High Court continued on September 25, 2019 with the presentation of the first prosecution witness, Mr. Mathew Bala, who told the court that the monies he transferred to the suspect, who was also in charge of fuel supply to NEMA’s generators were in appreciation of the agency’s staff who work under Deji.

In its determined war against internet fraud, operatives of the Kano Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Sunday September 22, 2019 raided the residence of suspected fraudsters at No. 282 HC Hotoro North Quarters, Kano and arrested six of them.
