The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured the conviction of one Muhammed Awal for presenting and representing himself as a white woman to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Muhammed who hails from Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State was convicted and sentenced to six months imprisonment by Justice Adebayo Yusuf of a Kwara State High Court, Ilorin, having found him guilty of a one count charge levelled against him by the EFCC.

Court Sends Six Internet Fraudsters to Jail in Benin City

Six internet fraudsters: Akinnodi Oyindamola, Akinlade Oluwole Stephen, Adekunle Junior Adeyemi, Iyeke Ochuko Prince, Ojo Oluwagbenga Emmanuel and Prince Onogbake were on Monday, May 15, 2023, convicted and sentenced to prison by Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City.
They were arraigned separately by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on one count charge of possession of fraudulent documents.

Alleged €250,000,000 Fraud: Absence of Defence Counsel Stalls Trial of Defendant

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, May 15, 2023, adjourned till June 9, 2023 the trial of the late Tan Ah Chai Richard, a Malaysian, and his company, Coastal Asia Investments Limited, over a €250,000,000.00 fraud, due to the absence of the defence counsel.
Richard and his company were first arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on May 22, 2019 on a five-count charge bordering on forgery, use of false document, conspiracy to forge and an attempt to obtain money by false pretence to the tune of €250,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million Euros).
Bawa Tasks Undergraduates to Stand Up Against Corruption

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, has called on university undergraduates and youths across the country to stand up and join hands with the Commission in its fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes.
He made the call on Monday, May 15, 2023, while receiving members of the Zero Tolerance for Corruption, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria who paid him a Courtesy Visit at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission.

The Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja urged staff of the Commission to take matters of their health very seriously, stressing that well-being is the bedrock of optimal performance in any workplace.
Bawa who spoke through the Commandant, EFCC Academy, Commander of EFCC Ayo Olowonihi gave the advice while addressing participants at training organized for senior officers of the Commission on personal health promotion and wellness. “People get too carried away with doing the job and we neglect ourselves, we neglect health. Health is wealth and it is the biggest asset,” Olowonihi said.
