Dasukigate: Metuh Gets N400m Bail

Justice O. E. Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, granted bail to the National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metu.
Metuh, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial CrimesCommission, EFCC, on a 7-count charge bordering on money laundering, is alleged to have received N400 million (Four hundred million naira) from former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) who is being tried for laundering $2.1 billion.

An operative with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Junaid Sa’id, testifying in the ongoing trial of former Benue governor, Gabriel Suswan and his finance commissioner, Omodachi Okolobia on Monday, January 18, 2016 told Justice A. R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court, sitting in Maitama, Abuja, that Suswan diverted proceeds from the sale of shares owned by the Benue State government and Benue Investment and Property Company Limited.
EFCC Arraigns Health Provider for Pension Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today arraigned one Dr M.O Shona of Mos-Metro Hospital, Tudunwada, Sabon Gari, Kano before Justice Nuhu Y. Galandanci of State High Court Kano on one count charge bordering on advance fee fraud.
The accused allegedly defrauded his former employee of her pension contributions over a ten year period. The victim, Mrs Elizabeth Ekodi alleged that she worked with Mos-Metro Hospital as a Nurse from 2005 to 2015 during which she was enrolled by the hospital management into the compulsory contributory Pension Scheme with NPLC Pension Fund Administrator. She further stated that deductions were made from her salary during the period but upon termination the of her appointment she went to her Pension Administrator to collect her contributions only to discover that no remittance was made into her account.
