The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Akwa Ibom State Command, Matthew Olufemi Olonisaye has commended the consistency of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in fighting corruption, economic and financial crimes in the country.

Olonisaye gave the commendation on Thursday, May 20, 2021 when he led his team on a courtesy visit to the Uyo Zonal Office of the Commission, where he was received by the Zonal Head CDS Nwanneka Nwokike.

The Sector Commander said that the dexterity and adroitness with which the Commission has fought and sustained the anti-graft war was commendable, and good for the state and the country at large. “I wonder what would have become of this country without the EFCC. We appreciate what you are doing. If not for you, only God knows what would have happened. We all know you're doing a good job", he said.

According to Olonisaye, he assumed the mantle of leadership in the Sector two weeks ago, hence the visit to seek for more support from the Commission. He said, “We’re here to solicit for your cooperation and we will need your advice. We cannot be everywhere. Road safety is a joint responsibility. As a security agency, we will appreciate it if you can be sharing security tips with us".

Responding, Nwokike appreciated Olonisaye for the visit and assured him that the zone will support his agency. "We have had a good relationship with your agency. This fight against corruption is not only for the EFCC, it is all about us. We are happy partnering with your agency and we will continue to do so," the Zonal Head said.
