Bawa Warns Against Illicit Financial Flows in Nigeria

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa has again warned on the dangers of illicit financial flows to the Nigerian economy.
He raised the alarm on Thursday, October 28, 2021 while speaking as a panelist at a roundtable dialogue organised by the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), with the theme, Depreciating Value of Naira and the Nigerian Economy, which held at Rockview Hotel, Abuja.
Court Jails 16 Internet Fraudsters in Enugu

The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured 16 internet fraud convictions. The fraudsters were convicted in separate judgments on Tuesday October 26, 2021 and Wednesday October 27, 2021 by Justices F.O G Ogunbanjo and I.M Buba of the Federal High Court, Enugu.
Eleven of the fraudsters were convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by Justice Buba. Nine of them: Franklin Chidera Owo,Chukwudi Nzube,Nwosu Victor Kosisochukwu, Onyebuchi Ebuka. Ozuma Chukwuemeka Henry, Christopher Francis and Eze Godwin Chibundu,Ikwunze Armstrong and Paschal Benjamin bagged two years imprisonment with an option of one Million Naira fine each.

The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Wednesday October 27, 2021 charged members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, 2021 Batch 'C' Stream 1, to partner with the Commission in the fight against economic and financial crimes.
He made the call in a sensitization lecture on the Role of Youths in Curbing Corruption at the NYSC Orientation Camps across the country.
At Okada, Edo State, Bawa stated that, "young people must not be mere spectators in the anti-graft campaign; rather, they should actually be foot soldiers leading the mass rout of corruption and economic crimes out of our land".
Grace Taiga, Accomplice in P&ID Scam Gets Bail

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court Abuja, Today October 27, 2021 granted bail to Mrs. Grace Taiga, a female accomplice in the multiple fraud case involving Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID).
Taiga is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on nine count amended charges, bordering on accepting bribes and other related crimes.
Bawa Charges NDDC Staff On Good Work Ethics.

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa has called for good work ethics as an important anti- corruption measure among staff of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
He made the call in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 while addressing management staff of the NDDC at a ”Two- Day Sensitization Workshop For Public Servants in NDDC". Speaking on: “Official Corruption, Cause, Method, Effect and Remedy", the EFCC boss stressed that organisational goals could only be achieved if employees embraced good work ethics. “Corruption is a monster which if not dealt with, will bring many organisations down. Employees should embrace good work ethics and perform their work with zeal and hard work. With this, I am sure result will be achieved and counted", he said.
