EFCC Presents N31.3bn Budget for 2022

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, October 25, 2021 presented a budget of N31, 350, 512, 836 ( Thirty-one Billion, Three Hundred and Fifty Million, Five Hundred and Twelve Thousand, Eight Hundred and Thirty Six Nara) to the National Assembly for its operations in 2022. The figure represents a slight improvement over the N29, 575,694,747.46 appropriated for the Commission in 2021.
A breakdown of the 2022 estimate indicates that N 25, 896,377,934 (Twenty Five Billion, Eight Hundred and Ninety Six Million, Three Hundred and Seventy Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty Four Naira) is earmarked as personnel cost; N3,600,773, 552 ( Three Billion, Six Hundred Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Three Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Two Naira) as overhead cost; while N1,853, 361,550 ( One Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifty Three Million, Three Hundred and Sixty One Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Naira) is projected for capital expenditure.
Man Bags Three Months Jail Term for Employment Scam in Borno

The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, October 25, 2021 secured the conviction and sentencing of one Nuhu Mohammed Lawan to three months imprisonment before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri for his involvement in a N1.1million (One Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira) employment scam.
The convict who is a staff of the Federal Public Complaints Commission in Borno State was prosecuted on one-count charge of ‘‘cheating’’.
EFCC Charges PCC on Accountability

The Maiduguri Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ACE II Onwukwe C. Obiora on Thursday, October 21, 2021 charged the Federal Public Complaints Commission to collaborate with the anti-graft agency in the fight against corruption to make Nigeria a better place.
The Commander gave the charge when he received the Honourable Commissioner of the Federal Public Complaints Commission in Borno State, Yusuf Adamu alongside his management team who paid a courtesy visit to the Command.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Command, in the early hours of today, Friday October 22, 2021 arrested nine alleged internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta State.
Those arrested are Musa Shaka, Musa Dauda, Oghenekuwe Moses, Oghenekuwe Hezekiah, Akpan Bobby, Ilaya Godstime, Olemene Azubuike, Edevo Success and Atarhe Ochuko.
Cybercrime: Kwara Government Pledges Support for EFCC

Kwara State Government has pledged support for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in tackling the menace of cybercrime among youths in the society.
The government also expressed readiness to collaborate with the agency in its efforts at curbing the incidence of computer-related fraud in the state.
Hon. Adenike Afolabi-Oshatimehin, Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, disclosed this on Wednesday, October 21, 2021 when she led officials of the Ministry on a courtesy visit to the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC.
