Bawa Charges Management Staff on Implementation of EFCC Strategic Plan

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa today, October 14, 2021 charged management staff of the Commission to ensure effective implementation of the recently unveiled 2021-2025 Strategic Plan of the agency in order to facilitate adequate tracking and measurement of the Commission activities and programmes.
Bawa who spoke at the opening of a one-day training workshop on implementation of the EFCC Strategic Plan 2021-2025 organized by the Department of Planning, Research and Statistics of the Commission at Barcelona Hotel, Wuse 2 Abuja reminded the staff that despite the successes and milestones achieved by the Commission in its 18 years of existence, it still lacks an identity, which underscores the importance of strict implementation of the strategic plan.
EFCC Arraigns Woman, Two Internet Fraudsters in Benin City

The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Wednesday October 13, 2021 arraigned the trio of Jessica Roselyn Edoleyi, Charles Endurance and Ayase Destiny before Justice S. M.Shuaibu of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretense, intent to defraud and impersonation.
Edoleyi was arraigned on a six count charge for allegedly obtaining the sum of Two Million, Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand (N2,550,000) from one Airiohuodion Efosa on the pretext of securing a Canadian Visa for him. Charles Endurance and Ayase Destiny are alleged to have impersonated the identities of Roland Scout, Sina Joorachi , George Lawrence in their attempt to defraud unsuspecting foreign nationals.
Three Printing Association Executives Docked for N7.4m Scam in Gombe

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Gombe Zonal Command, on Wednesday, 13th October, 2021 arraigned three executives of Printing Workers Association of Nigeria, Gombe State Branch, Joe Dantata (Chairman 2008 to 2014), Raymond Mela (Chairman 2014 to 2021) and Kabiru Abdullahi (Secretary 2008- 2021) before Justice Halima S. Mohammed of Gombe State High Court, Gombe on 24-count charge bordering on conspiracy, abuse of office and criminal misappropriation.
The defendants allegedly converted funds deducted from the salary of union members to personal use.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Impostor, Jatto, Others Jailed for Internet Fraud in Ilorin

A 21 year-old internet fraudster, Jatto Sheriff Umar, who posed as the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, in order to defraud unsuspecting victims via online relationship, was on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 convicted and sentenced to prison for offences bordering on personation and cybercrime.
The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, also secured the conviction of four other persons for similar offences. They are a fake US Military Officer, Oguntoyinbo Oluwatobi Damilola; Taiwo Akinyemi Kayode from Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Adebayo Adeola Mark from Osi in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Adedoyin Olayinka from Ilesha West Local Government Area of Osun State and one Yusuf Alameen Abiodun from Igbo-Owu Area of Kwara State.
