Two Jailed for Internet Fraud in Kano

A Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Dije Abdu Aboki on Thursday September 23, 2021 convicted and sentenced the duo of Aliyu Ashiru and Tahir Suleiman on a one count charge each of cheating.
The defendants, parading themselves as customer services officers with Opay, tricked unsuspecting victims into disclosing their personal financial details under the guise of registering them as Point of Sale operators. They would ask them if they were interested in venturing into POS business and once the agents agreed, they would send them an email purported to have emanated from Opay and ask the agents to submit their log-in details thereby giving the defendants access to their respective accounts.
EFCC's Kano Zonal Command Meets Telecom Companies

In its continued efforts in fighting economic and financial crimes in Nigeria, the Kano Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, today September 22, 2021, met with compliance officers of Mobile Telecommunications service providers in Nigeria at its office in Kano.
The meeting was part of efforts to improve the synergy between the Commission and the telecommunications industry.
Lagos Prince, One Other Jailed in Ilorin for Cybercrime

Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin has imposed a 6-month jail term on one Oyekan Abdulbaqqi Adedoyin, who claimed to be a prince from Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, for offences bordering on cybercrime.
Prince Oyekan, 25, was jailed alongside one Oni Stephen Oluwaferanmi from Ilesha, Osun State.
The duo of Prince Oyekan and Oni were prosecuted on separate charges by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
EFCC Arrests 21 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Umuahia.

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested twenty one ( 21) suspected internet fraudsters in an early morning sting operation in Umuahia, Abia State.
The suspects are: Orji John Chika; Stanley Chukwkreka; Torti Nnana; Chukwuebuka Onwuegbu; Anyanwu Emmanuel Gideon; Obioma David; Inadinma Daniel; Ohakwe Joseph; Oburu Emmanuel, Justin Ashiesbu Chinedu and Godwin Onyekwere;
Othere are: Clarenth Chieindu; Ibe Ezewa; Prosper Chimezie; Obinna Iromachi; Anslem Nnamdi; Reality Ezekiel; John Ottah; Prince Chinemerem, Chidozie Obioma and Anderson Nnamdi.
EFCC Grills 25 Suspected Oil Thieves In Port Harcourt

Twenty- five suspected oil thieves handed over to the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, by the Nigerian Navy, Forward Operating Base, Bonny Island, Rivers State, are being quizzed for their alleged involvement in illegal oil bunkering
The suspects were handed over to the EFCC, alongside two Vessels: MT Bright Hope and MV Johanna II on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Bonny Island, Rivers State.
