EFCC Uncovers Fake Bawa’s LinkedIn Account, Warns Nigerians

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission wishes to notify members of the public of the existence of a fake LinkedIn account, supposedly belonging to Abdulrasheed Bawa, Executive Chairman, EFCC.
The account which is promoted by an unknown impostor is unfortunately attracting unsuspecting followers desirous of networking with the Executive Chairman of the EFCC.
EFCC Arrests 11 Suspected Illegal Oil Bunkerers In Port Harcourt

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 11 suspected illegal oil bunkerers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Six of the suspects: Adinadu Chinonso; Chinedu Okoh; Paul Ejiofo; Christian Nweke, Nnaji Chidinma and Donatus Nnamani were arrested on May 7, 2021, along ÑPA Road, Port Harcourt, while the remaining five susoects: Francis Ezeakalam; Uchenna Asiegbu; Uchenna Okah, Ibrahim Olapade and Ndidi Akuneho were arrested on May 9, 2021 at the same location.
They were arrested based on verified intelligence obtained by the EFCC, on their alleged involvement in illegal oil bunkering.
EFCC Distances Self from Dismissed Staff, Peter Akpanke

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC wishes to notify the public that a certain Peter Akpanke is no longer a staff of the Commission and has no authority to represent it or carry out any business in the name of the Commission.
This disclaimer became necessary following reports that Akpanke, who was dismissed from the agency, had been parading himself as a bona fide operative of the EFCC and using the false identity to harass and extort unsuspecting members of the public especially in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
Network of CSOs Pledge Support to EFCC in Enugu

A network of over fifty (50) Civil Society Organisations (CSO) in the South East region of Nigeria, the South East Social Accountability Network (SESAN), has pledged its support to the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa in his avowed resolve to fight corruption to a standstill in the country.
The pledge was given by the Coordinator and Lead Partner of the Network, Emmanuel Acha who led a four-man delegation to the Enugu Zonal Office of the Commission, where he presented a Seven-Point advisory note to the Zonal Head, Oshodi Johnson, for onward transmission to the Executive Chairman.
“As a stakeholder in this struggle to defeat crime and all forms of corruption, we are sincerely very optimistic that the Executive Chairman would succeed in building strong partnership and strong working relationship with organisations such as ours as we pledge to support you in any possible way which is why we are here today,” he stated.
EFCC Arrests 6 Suspected Fraudsters in Abuja

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters. The suspects are Edesiri Epete, Roland Francis, Kelvin Eyeno, Adebayo Oloye, Edwin Ochuko and Jonson Godwin. Five of them were arrested between May 5 and 7, 2021 at a hideout in Shimex Estate, Pyakasa, Abuja, while the other was arrested at Queens Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja.
The arrest followed actionable intelligence received by the EFCC, on their suspicious lifestyle, which is not supported by any legitimate means of livelihood.
