Oil Theft: Navy Hands Over Vessel, Seven Suspects to EFCC

The Nigerian Navy Ship Delta, NNS Delta, on Friday April 23, 2021 handed over a vessel, MV Light and seven crew members allegedly involved in illegal oil bunkering to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The suspects are David Okpatu, Dele Olayanju, Simon Reuben, Idibe Christopher, Reuben Omonoye, George Egbejule and Hermeon Joshua.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has sought increased synergy between the agency and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in fighting corruption.
Speaking on Friday, April 23, 2021, during a courtesy visit to the Lagos Zonal Office of the EFCC, Kabir Elelu, Lagos State Commissioner of the ICPC, commended the EFCC for championing the fight against corruption, while also calling for a more robust relationship between the two agencies.
Kabir emphasized the need for both agencies to work together so as to improve the existing relationship in the areas of intelligence sharing and referral of cases.
EFCC Arrest Bitcoin Vendor, Four Others in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, today Friday, April 23, 2021, arrested one Ayomide Samuel Adebowale who trades in bitcoin for his alleged involvement in cyber crimes.
Ayomide along with four others were picked up from two locations at Elebu area in Ibadan, Oyo State.
EFCC, NEITI to Strengthen Collaboration against Corruption in the Extractive Sector

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC and the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), on Friday, April 23, 2021 resolved to strengthen their collaboration in fighting corruption in the extractive sector to ensure full recovery of revenues due to the federal government.
Speaking when he received the NEITI Executive Secretary, Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, the Executive Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa tasked NEITI to tap the experience and capacity of the EFCC in extractive industries fraud investigation to improve the delivery of her mandate. “We have developed expertise in oil and gas investigation. We did oil subsidy investigation, we did oil swap investigation, we did OML and OPL investigations, which came with billions of naira recovered. We can work together to ensure that what rightly belongs to Nigeria is ours”.
Be Good Ambassadors, EFCC Charges Corp Members

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today Thursday April 22, 2021 charged Corps members to be good ambassadors in the fight against economic and financial crimes.
Williams Oseghale, Head, Public Affairs Department, Benin Zonal Office who represented the Zonal Head, Muhtar Bello, stated this during an enlightenment campaign on the ills of corruption with members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC/EFCC Anti-Corruption CD Group at Egor Local Government Area, Benin City, Edo State.
