Fire Incident Will Not Affect Our Operations –EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has assured the public that Friday, May 5 fire incident at the Enugu Zonal Command of the Commission will not affect its operations. The Secretary to the Commission, Dr. George Ekpungu gave the assurance on Sunday, May 7, 2023 during an inspection visit to the Command.
Speaking with journalists after a tour of the facilities affected by the fire incident, Ekpungu expressed relief that the inferno did not affect critical components of the work of the Commission, noting that the digiitisation process initiated by the Abdulrsheed Bawa leadership of the Commission had ensured that all the Commission’s processes are fully digitilised with back-up at the central server in Abuja.

EFCC Arrests 14 Internet Fraud Suspects in Port Harcourt

Fourteen suspected internet fraudsters were arrested on Friday, May 5, 2023 by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Command, during a sting operation at Rumuekini axis of Port Harcourt.
The suspects are Okoro Ansalem, Gift Mylius, John Lucky, Sadiq Shaibu, Sadiq Fahid, Benjamin Nnaji, Bestman Daniel, Golden Emmanuel, Dike Collins, David Nnaji, Oscar Mathew, Ofe Goodness Okoro Gift and Isaac Abraham Jombo.
They were arrested alongside three cars, Laptops, mobile and electronic devices.

N8.5bn Fraud: Court Orders Final Forfeiture of Ex-JTF Commander, Atewe's Properties in Abuja, Bayelsa

Justice Chukujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, May 5, 2023, ordered the final forfeiture of eight properties, seven in Abuja and one in Bayelsa State, as well as 30, 000 MTN shares( MTN Link Units) linked to Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Atewe ( rtd.), a former Commander of the Military Joint Task Force, Operation Pulo Shield, in the Niger Delta.
The landed properties are: 50 hectares of farmland at Plot No. FL746B Gaube Farmland Extension II Layout, Kuje, Abuja; a piece of land located at Commercial Layout, Yenagoa Gardens, Bayelsa State; one hectre of land in Kuje District, Abuja; Plot No. CP10, Sector Centre B Layout, Kuje, Abuja; Plot MF62 Outer Northern Expressway Cadastral Zone, Abuja; Plot No. 1228 Jahi, Abuja; four hectares of land designated as Plot No.CP6386 and Plot No.CP6387, Sabon Lugbe, Abuja.
