Court Jails Man for N12m Fraud in Maiduguri

The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 secured the conviction and sentencing of one Ahmed Isa Tahir, before Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri.
Ahmed was arraigned on June 23, 2022 on a two-count charge of conspiracy and criminal breach of trust to the tune of Twelve Million Naira (N12, 000,000.00).

The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, re-arraigned one Johnson Ofortube before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State on a two-count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N9,000,000 (Nine Million Naira).
The defendant was standing trial before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, after being arraigned on July 14, 2022.

Court Sends Five Internet Fraudsters to Jail in Benin City

Five internet fraudsters - Bright Obaro, Christopher Lawani Igbinosa, Osagie Hope Godstime, Divine Uche and Osagie Junior - were on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, convicted and sentenced to prison by Justices Efe Ikponmwonba and M Itsueli of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City.
They were arraigned by the Benin Zonal Command of the Commission on separate one count charges bordering on fraudulent impersonation, retention of proceeds of crime, intent to defraud and possession of fraudulent documents.
Bawa Charges Students to Join EFCC Integrity Club

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 urged students to take advantage of the Commission’s preventative mandate by joining the EFCC Integrity Club in order to contribute in fighting corruption, which has eaten deep into the fabric of our dear nation.
He gave the charge through CSE Nana Fatima Abubakar of the Public Affairs Department, Kaduna Zonal Command, at a sensitisation lecture organised for students of KADWELL international Schools, Barnawa, Kaduna.

EFCC Arraigns Man for N15.9m Rice Scam

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned one Friday Essien before Justice Daruis Khobo of the State High Court sitting in Kaduna, Kaduna State on a two count charge bordering on cheating and obtaining by false pretenses.
The defendant is alleged to have issued dud cheques raised in the name of Adachi Poultry Feeds in payment for 600 bags of rice from the complainant.
