Anti-graft War: FRSC Offers EFCC Access to Its Portal

The Corp Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Corp Marshal Dauda Ali Biu on Thursday, 30 March, 2023 expressed the Corps’ readiness to work with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to boost the fight against economic and financial crimes in Nigeria.
Biu who made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, said the Corps had offered access to its vehicle registration portal to the Commission. “We have the data of vehicle users and vehicles which I believe is very important in national planning and the fight against economic and financial crimes. Over the last year, the portal was used to recover over 53 stolen vehicles and all the security agencies can harvest information from our portal”.

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa has admonished students across the country, to shun corrupt practices, in both little and big things, stressing that no corrupt act is justifiable.
He stated this in Abuja on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the launch of an Integrity Club at Government Secondary School, Bwari. The EFCC boss, who spoke through Deputy Director ,Creative Engagement, Deputy Commander of the EFCC, DCE Nwanyinma Okeanu, noted that, “in the particular instance of a school environment, corruption manifests in the following unhealthy practices: lying, examination malpractices, internet fraud, stealing pens and pencils, books and any other things that does not belong to you. In short, corruption shows up when you cut corners and throw good conduct to the dogs.”

Fraudster Convicted For $5,576 Cryptocurrency Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, March 27, 2023, secured the conviction of one Moses Upkonahusi for $5,576, (Five Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy-six United States Dollars) fraud.
He was first arraigned by the EFCC before Justice Mohammed Zubair of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Jikwoyi, Abuja, on a one count charge bordering on cheating by impersonation.
The count reads: “That you, Moses Ukponahusi, Male, sometime in December, 2021 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did cheat by personation when you fraudulently created a fake

EFCC Charges Youth on Improved Moral Standards

Sokoto Zonal Commander of the EFCC, ACE II Aliyu Yunusa, has tasked youths across the country to imbibe right moral standards, stressing that such standards are the panacea to economic and financial crimes.
He stated this in Sokoto on Thursday, March 30, 2023 while delivering a paper at a One- day Symposium organised by the Nuun Advocacy & Community Initiative held at the Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto for students of the College.
Oil Theft: EFCC Task Oil Chiefs to Disincentivize Stealing of Nigerian Crude

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Thursday, March 30, 2023 called major oil producing companies in Nigeria to consider the introduction of advance cargo declaration on crude export as a measure to discourage the theft of Nigerian Crude oil.
The EFCC boss who spoke while members of the Oil Producers Trade Section of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, on a courtesy visit to the commission, expressed optimism that advance cargo declaration of crude export with unique tracking not will deter the theft of Nigerian crude at the export terminals but discourage off takers who would be unwilling to accept such cargoes.
