EFCC Arrests Suspected Yahoo Boy in Makurdi

The Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a suspected internet fraudster, Abur David Aondowase in Makurdi, Benue State.
He was arrested on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at his hideout in Makurdi, Benue State.
Items recovered from the suspect include two laptops, an iPhone, different ATM cards and one Lexus ES 350 car.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Borno State, Mohammed Magaji Ibrahim has called on the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to intensify efforts towards curbing vote-buying and selling in the forth-coming general elections in the State.
Ibrahim made the call during a courtesy visit to the Zonal Commander, Shuaibu Umar in his office on Friday, November 18, 2022.
According to him, “the elections conducted in the past are going to be different from the 2023 general election because there is a brand new Electoral Act with new provisions that must be enforced.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is to appeal the ruling of Justice Charles Agbaza of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja, which today dismissed the 10-count charge of corruption brought against a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal.
Lawal, his younger brother, Hamidu David Lawal, Suleiman Abubakar and Apeh John Monday are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alongside two companies, Rholavision Engineering (fifth defendant) and Josmon Technologies (sixth defendant) on amended 10-count charge, bordering on fraud, diversion of funds and criminal conspiracy to the tune of over N544million.

Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, November 18, 2022 arrested eighteen suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Ilorin, Kwara State.
They are Adeleye Ayodeji, Muhammed Ayub, Odelade Samuel, Sodiq Olanrewaju, Ola Francis, Adeniyi Damilare, Olalekan Samad, Tunde Ayodele, Zubair Buhari and Oladosu Naheem.
Others are Olowokere Jamiu, Lawal Usman, Jamiu Abdulrasaq, Lawal Ahmed, Opeyemi Samuel, Alarape Ahmed, Kolawole Daniel and Ganiyu Taofeek.
AML:Bawa Commends Validation of Non-Profit Organizations’ Risk Assessment

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa has commended the validation process of the Risk Assessment Report on exposure of Non-Profit Organisation, NPO, to money laundering and terrorist financing, organised by the Special Control on Money Laundering, SCUML, describing it as timely.
He gave the commendation on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Corporate Headquarters of the EFCC while addressing stakeholders involved in the exercise.
The Chairman, who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Hadiza Zubairu Gamawa said the seminar and the reports that came out of it, came at a critical time when Nigeria is battling insecurity and insurgency. The reports of the seminar, he said, would help to determine NPOs that are vulnerable to terrorism financing.
