Man Convicted for Stealing in Kaduna

Justice M.T.M. Aliyu of the Kaduna State High Court on November 15, 2022, convicted and sentenced one Christian Ekoja Gabriel to ten years imprisonment for criminal misappropriation.
The one count charge reads: “that you, Christian Ekoja Gabriel sometime in October, 2021 in Kaduna within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly misappropriated a total sum of N800, 000, 00(Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) only, property of Jedial Jesse, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 293 of Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017 and punishable under Section 294 of the same Law”.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
Sokoto Director Jailed 7 Years for Job Scam

Justice Ahmad G. Mahmud of the Federal High Court, Sokoto on Wednesday November, 16, 2022 convicted one Hassan Bello, a Director with the Sokoto State Commodity Board and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment on a one count charge for obtaining money by false pretence.
The convict fraudulently obtained the sum N1, 320,000 (One Million Three Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira) under the guise of offering non-existent employment to hapless job seekers.
Army Seeks More Collaboration with EFCC in Maiduguri

The new Commander, 7 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General J. Ibrahim has called for more robust collaboration between the Army and the EFCC ZONAL Command in Maiduguri.
He made the call on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 during a courtesy visit to Maiduguri Zonal Commander of the EFCC, Shuaibu Umar in his office.
He said the Army considers the EFCC a strategic partner, adding that the Division looks forward to working with the Miaduguri Command of the EFCC especially in the light of the forthcoming general elections and national census.
$9.6bn P&ID Fraud : Court Issues Bench Warrant on Nolan

Justice D U. Okorowo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, issued a bench warrant on James Richard Nolan, a Briton, for jumping bail and failing to appear before him for trial.
Nolan, one of the directors of Goidel Resources Limited, a Designated Non-Financial Institution, DNFI, and another company, ICIL Limited, are standing trial on 16- count charges bordering on money laundering.
On the last adjourned date, counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, G.C Ofulue, sought a bench warrant on the defendant, but the judge decided to give the defence more time to produce him on the next adjourned date.
Court Convicts Three Internet Fraudsters in Benin City

Justice M. Itsueli of Edo State High Court, Benin City, on Monday, November 14, 2022 convicted and sentenced three internet fraudsters to jail for fraud.
They are Omorefe Osaze, Ikekhua Bassey Mately and Wonderful Okirhienyefa Oghenetega. They were arraigned on one count charge bordering on unlawful possession of fraudulent documents and personation by the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC.
The charge against Oghenetega reads: “that you, Wonderful Okirhienyefa Oghenetega on or about the 15th day of August, 2022 at Benin City within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did have in your possession, in your iPhone 7 Plus mobile phone, documents containing a false pretense with different subjects which you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 6 and 8(b) or the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3)of the same Act”.
