Alleged N1.4bn Oil Fraud: Court Adjourns Nadabo Energy’s Case.

Justice C.A Balogun of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, adjourned till November 1, 2022, the case involving Abubakar Ali Peters and his company, Nadabo Energy Limited, over an alleged N1.4 billion fraud.
The EFCC is prosecuting Abubakar and his company, on 27-count charges, for allegedly using forged documents to obtain the sum of N1,464,961,978.24 from the Federal Government as oil subsidy, after allegedly inflating the quantity of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, purportedly imported and supplied by the company.
EFCC Arrests Ekiti DJ for Impersonating Popular Artiste.

Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested an Ekiti state-based Disc Jockey, Famotemi Toluwani Timothy for allegedly impersonating a hip-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as “Portable”.
He was arrested on Thursday, September 29, 2022.
Timothy, a native of Igede-Ekiti in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, allegedly opened an Instagram account with the name “Zazoo Omolalomi Portable” where he claimed to be the singer.
Investigations showed that the suspect met one of his victims, Adebayo Adedimeji Lukman, running a Club in Offa, Kwara State, on social media and introduced himself as “Portable” and bargained to perform at the Club for the sum of N1 million naira.
Kwara Govt Commends EFCC on Fight against Illegal Mining.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Kwara State, Adenike Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin, has commended the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in checking the activities of illegal miners and non-payment of royalties to the Federal Government.
She gave the commendation on Friday, September 30, 2022 while on a “Solidarity Visit” to the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC.
Commenting on efforts of the EFCC in curbing the menace, the Commissioner said, “Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman is happy with what EFCC is doing. We are so happy with what you are doing. And, we are here to let you know that the Kwara state government is solidly behind you. The governor is determined to give you all the needed support to sanitise the mining sector.”
Gombe Court Jails Fraudster Two Years

Justice Daraboh. S. Sikkam of the Gombe State High Court, sitting in Gombe, has convicted and sentenced Ibrahim Muhammad Nakasai to two years imprisonment for stealing.
He was jailed on Monday, September 26, 2022 after pleading guilty to one-count charge bordering on theft, upon his arraignment by the Gombe Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
EFCC Arrests Two Siblings, 53 Others for Suspected Internet Fraud in Ibadan.

Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested two siblings: Ogunbanjo Abiodun Olakunle and Ogunbanjo Omotayo Akorede, alongside fifty-three( 53) others, for suspected involvement in internet fraud.
They were arrested on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Awa-Ijebu area of Ibadan, Oyo State, following surveillance and credible intelligence worked upon by the EFCC, on their suspected internet-related fraudulent activities.
