EFCC Arrests Seven Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Abuja

Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters.
They were arrested on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at their hideout in the Life Camp area of Abuja.
They suspects are: Daniel Archibong Akpan, Akunkagha Obiajulu Alex, Abeyi Oghenenyerhovwo and Edoh-Izegwire Oghenevovwero. Others are: Etuk Malcolm Essien, Akpan Iniobong Sunday and Oghenevovwero Abeyi.

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested ninety five(95) suspected internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta State.
They were arrested on Thursday, September 29, 2022, in a sting operation, at Adesa Ughonton and Jedda axis of Warri, Delta State for suspected fraudulent internet-related activities.

The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of Aisha Alkali Wakil, (a.k.a Mama Boko Haram) alongside Tahiru Alhaji, Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyode.
Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, sentenced them on Thursday, September 29, 2022 to seven years imprisonment each, for the offences of conspiracy and another seven years for obtaining money by false pretences.
Before their conviction, the defendants were first arraigned on September 14, 2020 before Justice Kumaliya on two count charges for the offences of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N 15,000,000.00 (Fifteen Million Naira).
Bawa Hails Elevation of EFCC Prosecutors for SAN Rank.

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has commended the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, LPPC, for elevating two staff and prosecutors in the EFCC: Sylvanus Tahir and Rotimi Oyedepo to the coveted rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
He gave the commendation on Friday, September 30, 2022 while commenting on the decision of the LPPC that approved the elevation of 62 lawyers, including two EFCC’s prosecutors, to the rank of SAN. He said that the LPPC acted rightly for recognising the sterling qualities of the two prosecutors, stressing that their elevation was well-deserved.
He particularly expressed delight with the standard of law library in the EFCC, which he described as well-equipped, competitive and second to none.
Court Jails Internet Fraudster One Year In Lagos

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos has convicted and sentenced an internet fraudster, Gafar Olaitan Oyegoke, to one year in prison.
The convict was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, on two-count charges bordering on possession of documents containing false pretence.
