Two Internet Fraudsters Bag Five Years in Kaduna

Justice Nasiru.U. Sadiq of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in Kaduna, has convicted and sentenced two internet fraudsters to five years, six months imprisonment for internet- related offences and cheating.
The fraudsters: Peter Uzorchukwu Sharon( a.k.a Drew Mason) and Peter Prince John, were jailed on Monday, September 12, 2022 after pleading guilty to one- count separate charge, bordering on internet fraud and cheating by impersonation, upon their arraignment by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Beware of Scam Alert

The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to misinformation trending on the social media, of a Scam Alert which purportedly emanated from EFCC Help Desk Headquarters, Jabi-Abuja.
For the avoidance of doubt, EFCC has no such desk and any information which supposedly emanated from the said EFCC HELP DESK, did not originate from the EFCC.
The use of EFCC by the authors of the Scam Alert, smacks of sinister motives and it is important that the public is put on notice, as the Commission will not be liable should anyone becoming a victim of what is obviously a scam.
EFCC Arrests Seven for Suspected Internet Fraud in Benin

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Command, on Friday September 9, 2022 arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo State.
The suspects were arrested at their hideouts, following actionable intelligence about their alleged involvement in internet- related fraud.
The suspects are Akele Aisosa, Idemudia Lawson Osarodion, Daniel Chidube Emeka and Ekoh Godswill.
EFCC Arrests Chinese for Suspected Illegal Mining in Ilorin

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a 29-year old Chinese: Gang Deng, for suspected illegal mining in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Deng was arrested on Friday, September 9, 2022 and found to be in possession of crude minerals without authority. A truck load of minerals suspected to be lepidolite was recovered from him.
Two Siblings, One Other, in Jail for Cybercrime in Ilorin

Justices Adebayo Yusuf of the Kwara State High Court, Ilorin and Muhammed Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin have convicted two siblings - Shekoni Kayode Taofeek and Shekoni Habeeb Damilare, alongside Adegbe Thankgod, for offences bordering on cybercrime and retention of proceeds of unlawful activities.
They were convicted on Thursday, September 8, 2022 after pleading guilty to two count-charges bordering on retention of proceeds of unlawful activities, based on their arraignment by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
While Taofeek and Damilare were convicted by Justice Yusuf, Thankgod was jailed by Justice Sani.
