Bawa Seeks Collaboration with the Nigerian Mission and Consulate

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa has called on the Nigerian Permanent Mission and the consulate to the United Nations to assist the Commission in sensitizing Nigerian youths in Diaspora against cybercrime. The EFCC boss made the appeal when he met with officials of the Mission in company with his chief of staff, Hadiza Gamawa, on the margins of the recently concluded United Nations General Assembly Special Session on corruption, UNGASS, in New York, United States.
The EFCC Chairman expressed concern about the involvement of Nigerian youths in cybercrime both in Nigeria and abroad. He informed that, from January to date, the EFCC had arrested close to 100 young men involved in Advanced Fee Fraud adding that the trend was giving the country a negative image and stifling effective market penetration at the international level by genuine business people as well as the quest for foreign direct investment by would-be investors.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Office, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu.
They were arrested in a sting operation at the Independence Layout area of Enugu metropolis on Saturday June 4, 2021 following credible intelligence received on their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested nine suspected Internet fraudsters at Gwagwalada New Layout area of Abuja, FCT.
The suspects are: Teddy Agbam, Abdullahi Abdulsamad, Abdullahi Abdulrasheed, Ehije Miracle Julious, John Amajeh Stephen, Okorie Kalu Udo, Abrebor Promise, Abdulazeez Amin and Habib Abdulateef.
EFCC Sokoto Zone to Get New Office Complex

Barring any hitches, Operatives of the Sokoto Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, will be operating from an ultramodern office complex by the end of the year.
This indication emerged on Monday June 7, 2021 when the Zonal Head, Bawa Usman Kaltungo handed over the site of the proposed Zonal Office Complex to the project contractor, Hilmund Integrated Services.
The N250, 000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) edifice with a five month completion time, has provision for offices, conference rooms, staff canteen and a detention center.
EFCC Arrests 50 for alleged Internet Fraud

The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Friday, June 4, 2021, arrested 50 suspected internet fraudsters.
The suspects were arrested at Alaro Sango, Agbaje Ijokoro, and Apete Aladura areas of Ibadan, Oyo State following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
