Bawa Receives Prestigious CIFIPN Fellowship Award

The Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Professionals of Nigeria (CIFIPN) on Wednesday June 16, 2021 conferred and decorated the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC Abdulrasheed Bawa with the prestigious fellowship award of the institute.
The President of the Institute, Mrs. Ayishetu Victoria Enape who led other board members to the corporate headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja said the award is in recognition of his contributions to the fight against corruption in Nigeria through the investigation of many cases that led to the prosecution and conviction of corrupt persons.

The Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigations into the alleged case of conspiracy and currency counterfeiting levelled against three suspects.
The suspects, Sylvannus Ireka Ifechukwu, Patrick Chima Ibiam and Ajimijere Mathias Adegbenro, were arrested by the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Obalende, Lagos on April 30, 2021 and subsequently handed over to the EFCC for further investigation and prosecution.

The Executive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 reiterated the Commission’s commitment to improving the knowledge and capacity of its officers through training.
He made the disclosure when a delegation from Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Osman Nur Aras, paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission’s headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.
EFCC, KIRS, FIRS Partner against Tax Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is to collaborate with the Kano State Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Inland Revenue Service in tacking tax related frauds. The Head of the Kano Zonal office of the Commission, Mualledi Farouq Dogondaji stated this on June 15, 2021 during a courtesy visit to both agencies in Kano.
At KIRS, Dogondaji urged the Chairman to always report tax evaders to the Commission as the Zonal Office now have a full pledged Tax Fraud Section.
Anti- graft War: Reps Financial Crimes Committee Pledges Support for EFCC

Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes have offered to support the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission under the leadership of Abdulrasheed Bawa to achieve its mandate of ridding Nigeria of corruption.
The Honorable Ibrahim Abdullahi Dutse-led Committee made the pledge today, June 15, 2021 at a meeting with the EFCC boss at the National Assembly, Abuja.
