Registration with the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) is free. The Acting Commander of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC, ACE I Halima Mustafa Rufa’u stated this during an Anti-Money Laundering Training organized by the SCUML in Ibadan Command for the Non-Governmental/Non-Profit Organizations in Oyo State
According to her, the EFCC does not charge any fees for organizations seeking to register with SCUML, nor are they required to pay any fees to obtain the certificate.

Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kaduna, has convicted and sentenced one Dodo Ayuba Ahmadu to two years imprisonment on one count charge bordering on giving false Information.
The charge reads: “that you, Dodo Ayuba Ahmadu (M) and Hezekiah Samuel (now at large) sometime in March, 2023 in Kaduna, Kaduna State within the jurisdiction of the Honourable Court, committed an offence to wit: willfully gave false information to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, which information was used to carry out investigation on your complaint to the Commission, which information you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 16(1) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004 and punishable under Section 16(2) of the same Act”.

Six internet fraudsters, Agbonghae Anthony Osamudiamen, Akpobaro Jude , Godday Osaretin, Favour Uwaifo , Blessing Samson and Harry Akputu Donald were on Friday May 26, 2023 convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by Justice M. Itsueli of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City.
They were arraigned separately on one count charges by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for offences bordering on illegal possession of fraudulent documents and intent to defraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Command on Friday, May 26, 2023, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Amohu Sorochi Theresa before Justice Austine Ityonyiman of the State High Court, Makurdi, Benue State.
Theresa was arraigned on one-count charge of criminal misappropriation and dishonestly converting the sum of Four Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Six Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Naira ( N4,826,150.00) being part of daily contributions paid by customers through her.
