The Acting Commander, Benin Zonal Command, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nkechi Ude on Thursday, March 9, 2023 charged youths to shun economic and financial crimes.
She stated this during a sensitization programme on the danger of engaging in cybercrimes, organised by the Africa Network for Environment and Environment Justice ANEEJ, a non-governmental organisation.

$9.6bn P&ID Fraud: Nolan’s Sureties to Forfeit N50m Bonds

Justice Modupe Oso-Adebiyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Gudu, Abuja, has ordered sureties to James Nolan to produce him before the court in September 2023, or risk forfeiting their bonds to the Federal Government.
Nolan, an Irish and a Director in the Process and Industrial Development Limited, P&ID, is facing trial on 11-count charges bordering on forgery, stealing and felony to the tune of N151,394,328.00 (One Hundred and Fifty One Million, Three Hundred and Ninety Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty Eight Naira only).
At the resumed trial of the defendant on Thursday, March 9, 2023, Justice Oso-Adebiyi frowned at the non-appearance of Nolan in court, after series of adjournments to ensure that his counsel produced him for trial.

Port Harcourt Student Bags One Year for Internet Fraud

Justice A. T. Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has convicted and sentenced an internet fraudster, Lucky Victor Chinonso, who is also a student, to one year imprisonment for impersonation contrary to Section 22(2) (b) (i) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.
He was jailed on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, after pleading "guilty" to the two count charge preferred against him by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Man Docked for N7m Land Scam In Enugu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Command on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 arraigned one Chidi Ogbodo before Justice V.N Ajogwu of the State High Court, Enugu on one count charge bordering on personation.
The defendant sometime in January 2022 allegedly fraudulently presented himself as the owner of a plot of land located at Censers Avenue, Enugu and collected the sum of N7, 035,000 in tranches as payment for the sale of the land. The buyer subsequently discovered that the land does not belong to him and every effort to retrieve her money proved abortive.
EFCC Docks Man for N9m Investment Scam in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Command on Monday, March 6, 2023 arraigned one Odeleye Moses Oluwabukola and his firm, Beedel Strategic Investment Company Nigeria Limited, before Justice Mohammed Owolabi of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan, on a three count charge which borders on forgery, uttering of document and obtaining money be false pretence to the tune of N9million (Nine Million Naira).
The defendant, according to investigation approached his victim, Ololade Desmond-Eke with a forged “Local Purchase Order”, asked for a loan of N9million, with an agreed interest of N495, 000.00 (Four Hundred and Ninety-five Thousand Naira), under the pretext of executing some purported contracts awarded to his company across the country.
