Court Jails Man Two Year for Auto Scam in Sokoto

Justice Maryam Muhammad Sifawa of the Sokoto High Court, Sokoto on Wednesday March 8, 2023 convicted and sentenced one Abdullahi Mus'af to 2 years imprisonment on a one count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust to the tune of N800,000.00 (Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) preferred against him by the Sokoto Zonal Command of the EFCC.
The defendant converted to personal use, the said sum which was given to him by the complainant to purchase a car.
The charge reads, "That you, Abdullahi Mus'af sometime between the month of December 2021 and January 2022, in Sokoto within the Judicial Division of the High Court of Sokoto State being entrusted with property to wit: the total sum of Eight Hundred Thousand Naira belonging to one Aliyu Mohammed for the purpose of purchasing for him a car (Hijet Mini Truck) but you later dishonestly converted the said sum to your personal use, in violation of the mode in which the trust was to be discharged and you thereby committed the offence of Criminal Breach of Trust contrary to Section 300 of the Sokoto State Penal Code Law 2019 and punishable under Section 301 of the same Law".

Man Arraigned for Alleged N18.5m Scam in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Abuja Zonal Command, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 arraigned Martin Chukwuma Agba on a one count charge before Justice C.E. Nwecheonwu of the FCT High Court, Kuje.
The charge reads, “that you, Martin Chukwuma Agba sometime in January 2020 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory dishonestly misappropriated the sum of N18,579,000 (Eighteen Million Five Hundred and Seventy Nine Thousand Naira) only entrusted to you by De Chimex Electrical Company Ltd for registration of Deed Of Assignment of Certificate of Occupancy with the Federal Capital Administration and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 311 and punishable under Section 312 of the Penal Code Laws of the Federation 2004”.

The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 8, 2023 secured the conviction of three internet fraudsters before Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of Edo State High Court, Benin City.
The convicts - Osayi Gregory, Smart Okunrobo and Justice Osagie Beggedo- were arraigned on separate one count charges of impersonation and obtaining by false pretence. They had between 2018 and 2020 impersonated foreign nationals to defraud unsuspecting victims.

Two Internet Fraudsters Jailed Six Months in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command today, March 8, 2023 arraigned the duo of Ogbonna Clinton and Ezurumike Precious before Justice C.O Agashieze of the FCT High Court, Lugbe Abuja for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
Ogbonna, sometime in 2022 impersonated one Engr. Charles Aat Khaha on a social media platform to obtain the sum of $2,200 (Two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars Only) from one Kim Le, a Chinese citizen.

Court Adjourns Ex-Air Chief, Amosu, Others’ Alleged N21bn Fraud Trial Till June 7

Justice C.J. Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, adjourned till June 7, 2023 further hearing in the alleged N21bn fraud involving a former Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosu, and two others.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, re-arraigned Amosu alongside Air Vice Marshal Jacob Bola Adigun, a former Chief of Account and Budgeting, and Air Commodore Gbadebo Owodunni, a former Director of Finance and Budgeting on an amended 13-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N21bn.
The defendants are being prosecuted for alleged conspiracy and conversion of the funds belonging to the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, to the their personal use.
