EFCC Arrests 29 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Owerri.

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested twenty-nine (29) suspected internet fraudsters in Owerri, Imo state.
The suspects, who allegedly specialized in defrauding foreigners through the internet, were arrested on Friday, September 23, 2022, following actionable intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet- related offences.

The Enugu Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Oshodi Johnson
has called on corps members across the country, to embrace entrepreneurship, stressing that, the nation needs young people to bring in their skills, ideas and innovation to move the country forward.
He gave this charge on Thursday, September 22, 2022 when he received Executives of the Muslim Corpers’ Association of Nigeria, Enugu Branch, who paid him a Courtesy Visit. According to him, entrepreneurship is an opportunity for job creation among youths, to overcome the challenges of unemployment.
EFCC Arraigns Maiduguri Businessman for N99million Fraud

The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday September 22, 2022, arraigned Kyari Mohammed before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of Borno State High Court, on two-count charges, bordering on criminal conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N99, 750,000.00 (Ninety Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).
He was arraigned, alongside his company, Kyari and Sons Company Nigeria Limited.
Mohammed allegedly defrauded his victim, Alhaji Abubakar Moforo by collecting food items valued at N99, 750,000.00 under the guise of supplying the items to a Non- Governmental Organization with a promise to pay the money within forty-five days.
Appeal Court Backs EFCC on PND of State Governments' Accounts for Investigations.

The Federal Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division, has overturned the judgment of the Federal High Court, Makurdi holding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, from placing the account of Benue state government on Post No Deposit( PND) for the purpose of investigations, without a court order.
In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice M.S. Hassan on Thursday, September 22, 2022, the appellate court held that, the EFCC has powers to place any account, (state governments' accounts inclusive) on PND for 72hours, for the purpose of investigations, without a court order. The court also set aside the N50million damages awarded against the EFCC by the lower court.
Dancer, Three Others Bag 12 Years Imprisonment in Ilorin.

Justice Muhammed Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, has convicted and sentenced a Lokoja- based dancer, Achimugu Nelson Ojonoka and three others to 12 years imprisonment for cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds.
The three other convicts are: Olarewaju John Olumide, Lukman Ahmed Musa and John Solomon.
They were jailed on Thursday, September 22, 2022 after pleading guilty to separate count charges, based on their arraignment by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
