The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abuja Zonal Command on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters.
The suspects, Peter Omega Awupri, Philip Okonkwo, Emeka Okonkwo and Williams Chukwu. Others include Stephen Anthony, Edobor Osas and Adetola Sunday, were arrested in Gwarimpa, Abuja following credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.

Justice P. I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded Fasiku Olusegun Rapheal, a banker and former staff of First City Monument Bank, FCMB in custody for alleged stealing and currency counterfeiting to the tune of Twenty Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (23,500,000.00).
The defendant was arraigned by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, March 27, 2023, on a 6-count charge..

EFCC Charges Religious Leaders to Practice Integrity without Compromise

The Uyo Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ACE 11 Bawa Hamidu Saidu has appealed to religious leaders across the country to practice integrity without compromise, in order to strengthen their followers against corrupt practices.
He made this appeal in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Redeemed Evangelical Mission while speaking on the topic: “Developing Integrity and Building Trust”, in a Leadership Month Summit organized by the Mission. Saidu emphasized that a leader short of integrity can neither earn the trust of his followers nor influence them to do socially-beneficial engagements.

EFCC Asks Court to Dismiss Gov Yahaya Bello’s Application to Vacate Forfeiture Order on 14 Properties, N400m

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, urged Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos to dismiss the application by Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, seeking to vacate the forfeiture order in respect of 14 properties and the sum of N400m.
The court had, on February 22, 2023, granted a preservation order of the properties linked to the Kogi State government and reasonably suspected to have been derived from unlawful activities, pursuant to Sections 9 and 10 of the Proceeds of Crimes (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022.
The properties including “Hotel Apartment Community, Burj Khalifa lying, being and situate at, Plot 160 Municipality NO 345-7562, Sky View Building No 1, Property No 401, Floor 4, Dubai U.A.E.”, were reasonably suspected to have been derived from unlawful activity.

EFCC Arrests 18 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Uyo

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, March 24, 2023 arrested eighteen (18) suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Uyo and Mberebe, in Etinan Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State.
The suspects whose ages range between 19 and 31, were arrested following actionable intelligence linking them to alleged online criminal activities.
