Man Arraigned for N.7m Investment Scam in Kaduna

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 arraigned one Bashiru Usman before Justice A.A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court, Kaduna on one count charge of criminal misappropriation.
The charge reads: " That you, Bashir Usman (M) sometime in April, 2022 in Kaduna, Kaduna State within the jurisdiction of the Honourable Court, dishonestly misappropriated certain property, the sum of N745, 443.99 (Seven Hundred and Forty-Five Thousand Four Hundred and Forty-Three Naira Ninety- Nine Kobo) belonging to Babajo Auwalu Ahmed, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 293 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017 and punishable under section 24 of the same law”.

EFCC Arrests 21 Alleged Cybercriminals in Ibadan

Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, March 30, 2023 arrested twenty one suspected internet fraudsters including two females in an intelligence driven operation at Agbowo in Akobo and Idi – Ishin areas of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The suspects are Abdulsalam Yusuf Olamilekan, Henry Ugochukwu Ike, Sobowale Tolulope Enoch, Franklin Ibeh Kelechi, Aderoju Hammed Akande, Afolabi Mayowa Akinbobola, Emmanuel Victor Oluwasegun, Odidwe Victory Okwise, Okeke Hycent Obina, Ibelih Powel Theophilus, Anifowose Dolapo Praise, Balogun Oluwatobi Ayodeji and Ayoade Rofeek Mayowa.

Oil Thief Bags Two Year jail term in Port Harcourt

Justice P.I. Ajoku of Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, convicted and sentenced an oil thief, Alu Isaac to two years imprisonment for unlawfully dealing in petroleum product without requisite license.
He was prosecuted on a one-count charge bordering on conspiracy and illegal dealing in petroleum products by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
EFCC, CIFCFIN Partner to Curb Financial Crimes

Abdulrasheed Bawa, Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja said the Commission is delighted to partner with Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators, CICFIN in the areas of training and research which are integral part of the Commission’s drive to curb corruption.
Bawa who spoke through the Commandant, EFCC Academy, Ayo Olowonihi, at the Inaugural annual general meeting, AGM, of the Institute, said, “The EFCC will always partner with institutions such as the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria, CIFCFIN to carry out research on emerging criminal trends, causes and possible solution to economic and financial crimes”.

Ex-ABU VC, Bursar Docked for N1bn Fraud

Professor Ibrahim Garba, and Ibrahim Shehu Usman, former Vice Chancellor and Bursar respectively of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria were Wednesday, March 29, 2023, arraigned before Justice R.M Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting Kaduna, Kaduna State, on a nine count charges bordering on money laundering to the tune of over N1billion by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
They are alleged to have diverted the monies from different accounts of the institution meant for the renovation of the popular Kongo Conference Hotel, Zaria.
