EFCC Chair Engages Senate Anti- corruption Committee

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa today had his first interactive meeting with members of the Senate Committee on Anti- Corruption and Financial Crimes, following his assumption of office.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Suleiman Abdul Kwari, in his opening remark, once again congratulated Bawa on his confirmation as EFCC Chairman. He informed him that the Committee invited him to update them on his activities in all the mandate areas of the Commission since assuming office.
EFCC Arrests Five Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Port Harcourt

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested five suspected Internet fraudsters.
They were arrested in an early morning operation on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, along New Airport Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The suspects: Raymond Poi; Kelvin Okonofua; Anderson Aforke Adjukpa, Marvellous Ahre and Chijioke Amadi, were arrested based on verified intelligence about their suspicious involvement in internet- related fraud.
Court Convicts 11 Internet Fraudsters in Port Harcourt

Justice Adamu Turaki Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Friday, April 9, 2021 convicted and sentenced 11 internet fraudsters to various prison terms, for fraud.
The convicts were prosecuted by the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for offences bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
Those convicted are Anhwo Samson, Harry Omo-egbekun Hamilton, Odiase Martins, Okuson Godspower, Destiny Ighalo, Andrew Onoyoa, Omebu Happy, Enofe Michael, Adelakun Abdulkareem, Akpowowo Favour and Imaah Joseph.
They all pleaded guilty to one count charge each preferred against them by the Commission.
Anti-graft War: EFCC Commends NSCDC’s Collaboration

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC for its continued partnership in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
The Kaduna Zonal Head of the EFCC, Harry Erin, made the commendation on Tuesday April 13, 2021 when he visited the State Commandant of the Corps, Nurudeen Abdullahi.
Erin thanked NSCDC for accepting his request to visit, while also applauding the existing relationship between the two agencies.
EFCC, Navy Reaffirm Commitment to Fight Oil Theft

The Lagos Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS Beecroft, Apapa, Lagos have reaffirmed their commitment to the fight against oil theft.
Speaking on Friday, April 9, 2021 in Lagos during a Courtesy Visit by Commodore B. Mohammed, the new Commanding Officer, NNS Beecroft, Zonal Head of the EFCC, Ahmed Ghali, disclosed that the Zone had secured the conviction of 76 oil thieves in less than two years.
He said the convicts were among the 153 suspects handed over by the Nigerian Navy for further investigation from December 2019 till date.
Ghali also disclosed that the Zone secured the conviction of nine vessels out of the 19 it took over from the Nigerian Navy from 2019 till date.
